Borneo Travel: Etiquette with photos of kids

When travelling, you want to notice the differences between your hometown and your destination. That is the point of travelling – to see what else is out there, how it is different, and learn from it. It’s not a big deal. It’s just the way our world is set-up.

And others will notice how different you are too. And that’s okay. But what do you do when it becomes a little less okay? Or even a lot less okay…

KL: One Last Hurrah

And so we end our Borneo Adventures!

Our last day in KL is timed perfectly. Our flight is not until 10 pm, giving us the entire day to tick off some last items on the to-do list.

KL: Wings on Things

A lot of the research we did for KL was about shopping. A lot of shopping.

Don’t get me wrong – it’s great to wander around the markets and some malls, trying to nab a bargain. But when travelling with kids as a family, shopping is not usually a primary focus. For our wildlife adventures, shopping didn’t usually make it in to the top 5.

So it was quite a find when we learnt of the huge bird aviary in the city with a butterfly park nearby as well.

Bukit Melawati (Fort Altisburg)

If you are heading to Bukit Melawati, you need to make it an afternoon and evening affair. Why? Because you want to include the Fireflies as well. And you want a rest during the day so that you have the energy to truly enjoy it.

KL:Towers in the Sky

Despite our fantastic location for a hotel (Traders Hotel), it took us a few days before finally going to see the Petronas Towers up close. We had a big afternoon planned with CK to see Bukit Melawati, so a quick visit to the Towers seemed like a good idea. Unfortunately, the Travel Gods deemed otherwise.
